The latest research trends in Obesity treatment using acupuncture

Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives : We aimed to investigate how acupuncture was applized for anti obesity studies.
Methods : We searched the research papers with keywords of “obesity, acupuncture” and “overweight, acupuncture” since 2009 in the search web site, Pubmed(www.pubmed.com).
Results & Conclusion : We reviewed 84 searched research papers, for five years recently. Searched articles almost were reported in china “obesity, acupuncture”. And these are most research papers about clinical trials. Nowadays, electronic acupuncture was mainly used on obesity studies. They treated at Chuncheo, ST25, Jungwan, CV12, Jeoksamli, ST36, Samemkyo, SP6. Acupuncture treatment was effective method to decrease weight and to improve complications such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, insulin resistance and psychological symptoms.
